Today I will present to you my latest work as fashion producer, where I had the pleasure to work with one of the most interesting designers from Braga, the designer Helena Cordeiro.

Her store/atelier designer has a completely different concept from the other stores. She doesn't work with massed collections like other designers, but in developing a different  product /service creating unique pieces tailored to the needs and personality of each client.

"I bet on the difference and customization of the products trying to get into the client's style, whilst keeping my personal touch" (Helena Cordeiro, 2012)

Hoje vou apresentar o meu último trabalho na área de produção de moda, onde tive o prazer de trabalhar com umas das estilistas mais interessantes da cidade de Braga, a estilista Helena Cordeiro.

A sua loja/ateliê tem um conceito completamente diferente das restantes. Não trabalham com colecções massificadas como acontece com os outros estilistas, mas sim no desenvolvimento um produto/serviço diferenciado criando peças únicas adaptadas às necessidades e personalidade de cada cliente.

BE A MODEL FOR A DAY

Regulation:

Girls/boys from 15 up to 35 years old can participate in this competition. For underage participants parental permission is required.

The photo session will take place in Braga and the date will be defined later on  with the winner. Travel costs to Braga will be supported by the winner.

All competitors must put a “like” on our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/ptfashionworld in order to participate.

The votes/”likes” in your photos will only be validated if accompanied by a “Like” on our page (http://www.facebook.com/ptfashionworld).

The winner is the person who gets more “likes” until the 15^th of February.

The photos must be sent to pt.fashionworld@gmail.com with the subject "MODEL FOR A DAY”. Include personal data: name, age and location.

The photos received by email will be posted in an album created for that specific purpose and will be posted in order of arrival, being put online as soon as possible (in case of delay, please re-submit the email).

Pt.FashionWorld has the right to change contest rules whenever it deems necessary and refuses to publish photos that do not meet the indicated requirements. Photos of explicit nudity or in any way offensive to a group or person will not be published.

The prizes are:

1^st prize - a fashion photo shot with our team  - The package includes 10 fully edited photos and up to 4 hours of shooting on location or in studio. The concept is to be discussed with the winner.

2^nd prizes – 30% discount on a photo book by Maximino Gomes Photography.

3^rd prizes – 20% discount on a photo book by Maximino Gomes Photography.

Pode participar neste concurso raparigas/rapazes dos 15 anos até aos 35 anos. Em caso de ser menor de idade é obrigatório a autorização dos pais.

A sessão fotográfica será realizada em Braga e a data será combinada posteriormente com o vencedor. Os custos de deslocação para Braga serão suportadas pelo vencedor.

As fotos recebidas por email vão ser postadas num álbum criado para o mesmo efeito, serão postadas por ordem de chegada, sendo colocadas online assim que possível (caso estranhes a demora volta a enviar o email). 

Pt.FashionWorld, vê-se no direito de alterar as regras do concurso sempre que achar necessário, e a recusar a publicação de alguma participação que não preencha os requisitos indicados. Não serão publicadas fotos que tenham nudez explícita. Ou que por algum motivo ofendam algum grupo ou pessoa.

Nostalgic mood!!!

I saw this movie and I was thinking whether I should share it with you or not, as it is not fashion related. But anyway, it is a good movie to watch. 

Some points I took from the movie and you should never forget:

• Make the most of every day;
• Life "give" and "take";

• Do what you love, and love what you do;
• Believe in yourself, be brave;
• Value your friend;
• Loves;
• Don't be too quick to judge;
• Live life to the full;

Eu vi este vídeo e estava a pensar se deveria compartilhar com vocês ou não, uma vez que não está directamente relacionado com moda. Mas de qualquer maneira considerei ser um bom filme para verem.

Rockabilly

The Rockabilly is a key hairstyle trend for 2012, for both men and women. Rockabilly is an American style dating back to the 1940s, though hairstyles from the 1950s and 1960s have also become part of the rockabilly view.

Jeremy Scott’s spring / summer ’12 collection took the classic rockabilly hairstyle to exaggerated proportions, just to use on catwalks. The objective was to create the American origins in a hairstyle that was named "Country Barbie".

Proenza Schouler’s spring / summer ’12 collection was also inspired by the 50s and in Elvis to produce a very different interpretation of the rockabilly hairstyle.

O Rockabilly é uma das tendências chave para 2012, tanto para homens como para mulheres. Rockabilly é um estilo americano que remota a 1940. Porém, penteados dos anos 1950 e 1960 também se tornaram parte do movimento Rockabilly.

Jeremy Scott apresentou na sua colecção Primavera/Verão 2012, um penteado Rockabilly clássico mas com contornos exagerados, apenas para ser usado em passarelas. Um penteado de origens norte-americanas que foi apelidado de "Country Barbie".

Proenza Schouler também apresentou na sua colecção Primavera/Verão 2012 uma inspiração dos anos 50 e Elvis, criando uma interpretação muito diferente do penteado Rockabilly.

Scarlett Johansson used a rockabilly hairstyle last December. With the front and sides rolled up, the style reminds us of the beauty look presented in Jean Paul Gaultier and Preen Spring / Summer 2012 collection.

Big size

I saw this picture today on a friend’s facebook page and that reminded me of the idea to speak about “big size” in fashion. Everybody knows that models are very thin. Many people agree with that and many people do not. In my point of view, if you are a little bit fat, it will be difficult for you to fit in the models... that's why most times you see very slim models. I know a lot of girls who want to be a model and they often go on hard diets to make that possible. You shouldn’t do that, and it is even worse if you pass this way of thinking on to the new generation. Many people are born to be doctors, to be architects, to be engineers and some to be models. To be a model you must be thin, pretty and tall, but you shouldn’t change your natural beauty to try to be someone you are not. Everybody is pretty like they are. You don’t need to be a model to show you are beautiful.

Hoje vi uma imagem na página do facebook de uma amiga e lembrei-me de falar sobre o "tamanho grande" na moda. Todos sabemos que a imagem "ideal" dos modelos é serem muito magros. Uns concordam com isso e outros não. No meu ponto de vista, se uma pessoa for um pouco gorda, será mais difícil vestir e ficar bem nos modelos, é por isso, que na maioria das vezes se vê modelos muito magros. Eu conheço muitas raparigas que querem ser modelos e que muitas vezes fazem dietas malucas para tornar isso possível. Vocês não devem fazer isso, e é ainda pior se vocês passarem essa maneira de pensar para as novas gerações. Algumas pessoas nascem para ser médicos, outros arquitectos, outros engenheiros e algumas para ser modelos. Para ser modelo, é preciso ser naturalmente magra, bonita e alta, você não precisa mudar a sua beleza natural para tentar ser alguém que não é. Todo mundo é bonito como é, com a sua beleza natural. Você não precisa ser uma modelo para mostrar que é bonita.

De qualquer forma, eu encontrei algumas fotos de modelos com excesso de peso.

New Sweden Brand by Örjan Andersson

Coming soon for Spring/Summer 12 a new Swedish brand by Örjan Andersson.

Örjan Andersson’s plans are to launch a new brand of street & fashion jeans with a handsome and clean rock-look combined with traditional jeans attributes, under his own name.

He’ll start with what he knows better, jeans and T-shirts, and then he will build up the collection with more clothes.  He says the new label won’t affect his work at "Cheap Monday" for H&M.

Andersson’s new label will have five denim styles in different fabrics and washes and feature a street-rock look. T-shirts will come with and without prints, in black and white, anthracite melange and light gray melange.

This collection will be first available in Sweden and Denmark.
